Why Does Action Potential Succeed When Others Fail?Because we are the opposite of everything you have tried. Unlike conventional physical therapy, chiropractic, and massage therapy, we use scientific evaluation and treatment strategies that focus on restoring your ability to function. Many of the strategies are based on Muscle Activation Techniques developed by Greg Roskopf. Action Potential's unique approach, various thought processes, and manual techniques may also be attributed to Gray Cook PT, Gary Gray PT, Dr. Lawerence Jones, Robin McKenzie PT, and Dr. Alan Beardall, to name a few.
The procedures used at Action Potential are an uncommon approach to treating common injuries. Rather than focusing on pain, swelling, and weakness, we target the cause of these symptoms, neuromuscular inhibition.
When muscles fire incorrectly, joints become unstable, causing pain and injury. A muscle’s inability to fire correctly is due to a loss of communication with the nervous system. This phenomenon is called inhibition, and is what leads to disc herniations, ligament tears, arthritis, and muscle pulls to name a few.
The focus of the Action Potential treatment is to treat the inhibited muscle. This not only restores normal joint motion, stability, and strength, it also eliminates symptoms. Once your normal body mechanics have returned, we will teach you specific activities that will decrease the risk of re-injury.
Because we eliminate the cause of your symptoms, typical modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, etc.), expensive shoe inserts, repeat visits, and various other gimmicks are avoided. At Action Potential, pateints return to work or play in an average of 3 visits per diagnosis, saving both time and money.
